About me
Hello, I'm Moni!
Maybe one or the other has already guessed - I am passionate about cooking and baking!
However, since I also have to reconcile a bunch of other interests (and somehow also work and studies), recipes should be one thing above all else in order to be integrated into everyday: quick&easy.
But that doesn't mean that you have to skimp on taste! In the meantime I have collected a whole pool of quick but really tasty recipes. And what makes food even better? Sharing it! That's why I made another one of countless food blogs, but I guarantee you that every single recipe here is one of my absolute favourites!
I often find blogs or cookbooks where I discover a couple of good recipes, but unfortunately nothing more. Of course, I can only speak for myself, but the recipes you find here are the ones I cook on a regular basis. They belong to my standard repertoire, so to speak, and were considered good, at least in my environment.
I hope you feel the same way!
How it all started...
Actually, I just wanted to make a cookbook for my siblings, who graduated from high school and went off to live alone for the first time. Or two cookbooks, since twins usually leave the nest at the same time and they favor different dishes. In any case, I wanted to feed them my spoonful of culinary wisdom of the student kitchen so as not to send them completely helplessly out into the wide world.
But like everything I do, I kind of overdid it... to the point of excess. Instead of writing down a few recipes and looking for photos from the internet or snapping a quick photo before eating, I became ambitious. Since I didn't have much to do with photography before, I bought a photo light for the first time. So far so good, you can invest these few euros, I thought to myself.
Who could have guessed what proportions it would take...
The light thing was all well and good, but I quickly realized that in a book it would look stupid if all the dishes came on the same plates. So I started looking around for crockery and acquired a few nice one-offs. However, I was also bothered by the fact that I only had one kitchen table and therefore always the same background. So I went in search of new surfaces and ended up buying some. But that wasn't enough for me. I needed more!
If anyone has followed my misery up to here, he (or she) may have an idea of the direction in which the whole thing is developing. In the meantime, my cupboards are filling up with utensils while I happily roam through shops to tow even more odds and ends. In any case, at some point I realized that I might have invested a lot of time, work, money and, above all, space in my apartment. Too much to end up “only” creating two cookbooks and then being left with all that junk. So I decided to simply share my “journey” and my experiences with anyone who is interested. So another food blog was born in the great sea of food blogs and probably nobody was waiting for it or is interested in it. But I'll do it anyway! Not to be known, not to make money with it, but that it wasn';t all in vain.
Please do not (yet) expect highly professional glossy photos, as I said, I'm still practicing. But I'm always happy to receive comments, suggestions and criticism! Bring it on!
However, I guarantee for the recipes! Here I present the things that I really like to cook, that I find incredibly tasty and that usually go quite quickly and are therefore great to integrate into everyday cooking. So, even if the photos aren't perfect, I can really recommend you to imitate the recipes! 😊
Why lemon shrimp?
If anyone is wondering why this site was given the name "Lemonshrimp"; of all things, I suggest this person to look for a meaningful, still available domain in the food sector :D At some point the publication failed only because of the name and I became aware that actually no one will really be interested in it. So I chose "Lemonshrimp", because honestly, shrimp are great!
